A Letter to Families from Principal Heeraman

Dear PS/IS 30 Parents/Guardians,

The safety and well-being of all students and staff members at P.S./I.S. 30 remain our highest priority. To that end, I am writing to inform you that on Friday, November 12th, 2021, a staff member was arrested for concerning charges, the nature of which required his immediate removal. The staff member has been reassigned to a location away from our students and school community.

During this time, there will be several supports put in place by the school to ensure that our students continue to receive high-quality instruction in a safe environment. Guidance counseling and support services will be available for students and the school community in order to address any issues or concerns.

We look forward to your continued partnership as we work together to continue the mission and vision of the school and support our students.

If you have any questions, then please reach out to me Principal Carol Heeraman at cheeraman@schools.nyc.gov. Our guidance counselors are also available to support our students; you may reach out to Ms. Allen at AAllen7@schoools.nyc.gov; Mr. Houston at JHouston@schools.nyc.gov; or Ms. Pascual at DPascual2@schools.nyc.gov for individual and specific concerns.

Carol Heeraman

Principal, PS/IS 30
